About the speed, hum... I am averaging more than million page views every month at Need Scripts and haven't seen any noticiable slowdown while using the above .htaccess file. I assume the main reason is cuz I have using Links SQL option to generate static pages, and I believe parse of static html pages takes very very very very resource.
