(a very beginner question with LinksSQL)

I want the categories and subcategories being as close/top as possible from the root

www.mysite.com/first_cat/ ...

my server allows cgi everywhere (there is no cgi-bin dir)

so where shoud I install links SQL ?? directly on www.mysite.com with chmod 777 on that dir ???? mmmhhh ?

maybe my question has no sense -please explain- ???
