How to display the current calendar-week?

At a shopping-soultion I want to display at which time items are back in stock.

For example ........ "back in stock 42nd calendar-week"

This is not the problem, I know how to handle this.

Question is ......

How can I show the users the value of the current calendar week?
Is it possible that a global can calculate the calendar-week out of the present date?
