Just to share some thoughts on possible functions in versions to come of the forum.

Issue
In a forum where there are multiple discussions, I have found that people can't hack subscribing to them all and mostly would like to be alerted when something interesting is posted. There can be general chit chat going on for several days that doesn't interest everybody and then one important post appears but they don't know about it.

Possible Solution
Would it be possible to enable members to alert via a private message (which would be relayed via email) a specific group or a set of users from the list of members that a message had been posted that will interest them. Maybe thinking in this case about enabling and disabling this function via the admin panel for specifc groups / users?

Would it be possible to enable private messages to be sent to groups of people or selected users. To further this function maybe it would be possible to create specific lists for sending messages ie. Fred, John, Paul and Sarah in list 'Top Friends' and Bill, Jo, Meg and Florence in the 'colleagues' list. Thus one could send the same message to 'colleagues' just by selecting that list rather than selecting them one by one.
