Hi,
If you want to run the pop server on the normal port (so that your users don't need to go into the advanced settings of their mail clients), then you must have root access to the server.
Otherwise, you can run the pop server on a different port (say port 11000), and then your users will need to change their settings before connecting.
The POP Server works with any setup of Gossamer Mail though.
