Try downloading the free version of NuSphere (http://www.nusphere.com). PHP, Perl, Apache etc is configured automatically with their script. Then just upload Perl scripts to the nsdocs (I think) folder, set the path to perl as #!perl (yup, thats right ), and then you should be able to run it.
