Hi,

You can download the free Auth_POP plugin and Gossamer Mail will work exactly like this. A user enters in a username/password to a valid pop account, and then Gossamer Mail works off that. Plus you get all the features in Gossamer Mail like full text searches, full MIME support, full HTML Mail support, etc.
