security problem with cgi-bin
Hi everyone,

I searched the forums and can't find the answer to this so I'm posting my question. After 2 LONG weeks, I have Links working but I need to password the admin.cgi. The problem I'm having is that every script and mod I can find requires you to password the entire directory. My hosting service won't allow subdirectories in the cgi-bin (well, they allow them, but the cgi won't work) so if I password admin.cgi then my entire Links won't work right. Also, how totally unsecure is it to have it all in the same directory? I don't have much of a choice and I don't want to get hacked. Any suggestion appreciated.
