You mean not have a listing on the main page?
You'd have to use a combination of the mod I just posted for getting the top categories and then use some of the ideas at the bottom of the modify.cgi to turn them into a drop-down select box, and then change the build_home_page routine to build differently than it does now....
Basically, if you know what you are doing it's a few good hours, if you don't, it's probably a few days. I don't know anyone who's asked of this before.
The problem is that on many sites there are just too many categories to do anything like that. Beyond 10 or 20 it's a pain, and beyond 50 it's down right annoying, and when you have 3,000 it's quite useless and makes the downloads incredibly long.
