I tried to protect my admin directory by creating .htaccess and .htpasswd exactly as described in your tutorial.

The installation procedure worked fine but if the browser prompts for user-id and password the system does not accept my password.

I tried it several times, but the result is always the same.

Do you have any idea what the problem might be?
Is there any other way to protect the directory?
