I have directory structure Cat/SubCat

Now when i search for say Computer

I get all the Sub-Categories where Computer is there in the Subcategory Name.

I Search For Hardware and i don't get any Categories though there are Subcategories with that word. Same true for "Dealer" for example which occurs as a Sub Cat in "Business And Economy" Category

Am I missing something? Why aren't the Sub Cats uniformly being listed for the Search term

Actually there is another abnormality in the search and that is wrt substring parameter. Say i search for five of the six characters in one column. No matter whether the substring is 0 or 1, always all the links with the 5 of the six characters in a given column are listed.

I can PM the admin area username/ pwd in case needed.
This would also let u have a look at the recommend_it plugin problem.

Hi.

Links directory is at doc root for the domain.
Still find the same. Some search terms give expected results and some do not give any result though they should be giving wrt category/subcategory and not the links.

Actually, i wanted to include a help section on how best to find a subcat to post the link to. However, since the search is behaving abnormally, just couldn't do so.

Hi.

It started working after i edited the Andy's searchfeed plugin and set the option to '0'
When set to '1' the same was causing the problem.
When set to '0' the search works fine and also the searchfeed results are listed as usual....

Just a hit and trial but it got it working .... so far :)
