We have a links installation that has been successfully working for quite a while. Now, for past few weeks we have been getting an error from jump.cgi:

CGI Error: Operation not supported
Message: unable to get exclusive lock. Reason: Operation not supported

Some additional information :

1. when I change $db_use_flock to false, the error goes away, but the script behavior is very unpredictable, sometimes I get to the link and other time the script gives error

2. url.db file seemed corrupted, it was over 10MB for a site with about 1000 links. I deleted and recreated this file duing a new build, the problem still persists.

Here is one additional piece of information :

I checked the archives of Forums, and found that in some cases, jump.cgi with versions below 1.11A produce this error. We are using jump.cgi version 1.11A
