build error from admin page...

build error from admin page...
i have links installed fine, but when I go to do a build it gives me a server error for some odd reason....
I have checked permissions and they are fine... and it still builds the pages ok - but still gives an error rather than showing the build results page....any ideas why this would be?
its not a huge prob as like I say it still builds the pages ok....
but i am wondering where the prob could lie?

I'd check your error log. I was going to ask if you were on a raq but if you were and got a 500 error when building then I don't think the pages would be built.

Out of interest, are you?

I guess not then..Smile

A raq is a Cobalt RAQ server.

Just in case you are on a Cobalt server, try doing what is suggested below;

In all of the following files, nph-build.cgi, nph-verify.cgi and nph-email.cgi find any occurences of

$nph++;

youy need to put a # in front of it, like so;

# $nph++;

If not, then you are unlikely to be on a Cobalt server, but if still unsure I would contact your webhost.

And Paul, on some Cobalt servers, i have experienced the pages being built but a 500 Error occuring until the nph++ bits are commented out, so yes, the pages will still be built Smile

yes, I think it is a cobalt server!
I will try this - great support info... thanks!

Actually Andy, that is incorrect. The pages will not be built on a RAQ if $nph++ is uncommented. It will always die because of the nph-headers. But I'm not going to argue.
