Do you have the variable "query" being passed along? E.G search.cgi?query=word. If not, then double check your form codes in all your templates.

yes - I have a query /cgi-bin/search.cgi" method="GET"
in it - it goes to do the search and comes back with no matching records even though i know the word is there...kinda odd... any ideas?

I think you misunderstood what I meant by the query Wink

Hi Folks,

I'm having a similar problem and I tried applying this fix,
but don't really fully understand what to do...

when I do a search for something I know to be in the db I get
the following

*****
Your search returned 0 categories and 1 Links.

Categories:

Links

Pages:

*****
unfortunately whilst it indicates that it did find a link,
the page is not showing under the pages heading...

is this related to the problem being addressed here, or is
this a separate issue...any help with this would be great..best..jkh

In search_results.html what codes/tags do you have. For example:

Code:
<%if links%>
<%links%>
<%endif%>

It sounds like you may have missed a <%links%> tag somewhere Wink

Hi Andy,

no, <%link_results%> was in tact, but when I went through it
many of the 'statements' were on the same line as eachother
and I seem to remember reading a post that said they had to
be on different lines...so I tried that and it worked:)

thanks so much for helping me with this

btw..I'm not sure how I came to send it as an email to you
my intention was to post it to the forum... guess I'm a
candidate for an acf?
