Please tell me how I can get categories to show up in 2 columns on the category pages!

But Paul, they already do!

Unless you have made some modification which affects the category layout, the top-level categories appear in two columns on the home page and the subcategories appear in two columns on the category pages. This is all controlled by the same subroutine in site_html.pl or site_html_templates.pl.

Perhaps you haven't expressed your question correctly. If you rephrase it, I'll try to help you.
