.def file and mysql

What is the relationship between the .def file and the mysql?

If I have edited the .def file, should it appear in the mysql? Do I have to create a new table, before the features in the .def file appear?

I am trying to avoid putting all the features of a new table twice - once in the .def file, once in mysql.

Hi,

You shouldn't really edit the .def files manually. Easiest way to add new fields, is via:

http://www.domain.com/cgi-bin/forum/admin/db.cgi?db=TABLE;do=editor_table_form

Then, click "Add field", and enter your new details.
