We all want to believe it's true, but considering yesterday was April Fools Day, I tend not to. The way they've described GMail makes it sound like a completely different program. Also, Google's language of choice is Python, not Perl.

Yes, It doesn't appear that they are using a Gossamer product.

But everything else about it I believe is correct. I'll take 1 GB of space any day!

Well see if Yahoo, MSN, and all the other free email services up the ante.

Apparently this was not April Fool's joke. It was just a Big Mistake to release the news on that day and in Google's tongue-n-cheeck fashion. The April Fools was the developer job on the moon (check their news section).

Just to clear things up, no it's not actually using Gossamer Mail, I too took it as an April Fools Joke, and thought the naming was funny. =)
