What about creating a File Storage plugin?
This would give the user one additional feature in the menu. Basically the user has a small little virtual harddisk. He can create new folders and upload files to his account and then always access them when he logs in to check his mail.
When a user composes a mail he can then easily select and attach his files through a drop down menu.

What do you think?

Yes. Definitely this would let GM come a step closer to Visual Mail. Visual Mail has this feature. In addition, this would also help to drive professionals away from Free Email Service where they are lost amongst anyone above 13 year old kids.

Hope GT team would take a look coz they already have a File Manager type of feature in Admin of GM and the only thing is let the functionality be available to users.....

Yes, something like fileman but a lot more simple, like Visual Mails version.

I definetaly think this would be a cool feature! I am not a Perl Guru, but if someone has the knowledge to build this plugin...

Good idea! Once we get community out, we will be able to add "mini programs" that hook into any of the products quite easily. A file sharing tool is just one of the things we could do.

With Yahoo spending so heavily on World Cup Soccer, probably the day is not far off when they start charging for mail services or do away with free mail service in times to come. The $399 PA for the directory services is a good indicator of how the banner advertisement revenue has fallen in recent times.

These feature requests (just put down as thoughts come to probables to GM) are nothing but a desire to be ahead of Big Brothers Yahoo and Hotmail.

Fileman is a utility thats there in the admin mode of GM. Would it be a possibility to have the same functionality extended to users? I am also sure that the Onmouse over feature (seeing brief of message without opening the mail) would be available on 2.1 Actually i saw this on @mail
