It seems I have inadvertently deleted my .htpasswd file and now my entire password-protected folders aren't protected anymore (or is that not the problem?).
At any rate, how can I fix the folders, so that they are protected again?

There is a .htaccess/.htpasswd FAQ located in the Links section in the Resource Center...Search the Resource Center for htaccess.

On .htpassword and .htaccess files generally, a great helper is ".htpasswd Password Manager 1.0" from http://www.cgi-factory.com.
