permission denied after change of absolute path
Hi,

My hosting company has changed the absolute path of the cgi directory on their server (apparently one of their disks went down). I changed the absolute path in the links.cfg file and some parts work fine. However, when I try to validate newly added links I get this error message:

error in validate_records. unable to open modified database: /ext/dsk5//blablabla.../modified.db. Reason: Permission denied

Does anyone know what is the problem?

Many thanks in advance,

Firstly you have an extra slash in the path.....

/ext/dsk5//blablabla

If that doesn't fix the problem then check permissions and file ownership.

That doesn't help...
(I had the extra slash also in the original absolute path (it was ...dsk6//...)

I checked the permissions of the modified.db file: -rw-r--r--

I get this error message ('permission denied') also when I try to do other things (like deleting a link)
