My homepage works but when I try to click on a category it gves me this error messages "Unkown Tag: query"

You probably made a typo in one of the template. Be sure that query is "query" and not "Query" for example in the links.def file.

As I mentioned in your redundant Thread in the Links Modification Forum (Please stop posting redundant Threads, BTW.), you can not use <%query%> tag in the category.html file. IT is used in the search_results.html and search_error.html files.
