Yep, I am running it from the html files. If anyone wants to help admin@yavapai.ccgnews.com

Well, the reason I asked is because:

1. The error message is showing that an attempt was made to run the script from /home/sites/yavapai.ccgn/links/admin/admin.cgi/category which, obviously, will not work. It shouldn't even be looking for anything on the path, it should be using a URL.

2. I tried the URL I posted in my first reply and it came up perfectly; no problem. So, whatever you are using to run the script isn't the same as what I used.

What URL are you entering to run the admin script? It should be http://yavapai.ccgnews.com/links/admin/index.html .

I hope this helps.

I looked at the source code for nav.htm and it does call admin.cgi/category.....

Perhaps you could send me a copy of an existing nav.htm as I have DL'd the archive several times and the htm is the same.

If it matters, I am using Communicator v4.06

I am confused. You keep referring to nav.htm. To run the Links admin, you using index.html, not nav.htm. The nav.htm file is used by admin.cgi when needed to comply with menu choices you make.

You originally said that you could not get the Links to work "... for the first time". I assumed from what you said that you were having a problem bringing up the admin screen. I provided a URL to use but, apparently, that is not the problem you are having. Can you please restate your problem or clarify it? When do you get that error?

The index html works fine, it brings up all the frames and jive.

When I try to run anything (add catagory) it kicks back that error.

I looked at the nav.htm within the frame and it shows the links with the admin.cgi as a directory, I assume it is just bad html code.

load it and see if you can add a category....

No where, in any of this discussion, did you indicate that your error was a cgiwrap error message. I just discovered that:

Quote:
CGIWrap Error: Execution of this script not permitted

Execution of (/home/sites/yavapai.ccgn/links/admin/admin.cgi/category&add_form=1) is not permitted for the following reason:

Script file not found.

Server Data:

Server Administrator/Contact: admin@yavapai.ccgnews.com
Server Name: yavapai.ccgnews.com
Server Port: 80
Server Protocol: HTTP/1.0

Request Data:

User Agent/Browser: Mozilla/4.07 [en] (Win95; U ;Nav)
Request Method: GET
Remote Host: 25.toledo-05-10rs.oh.dial-access.att.net
Remote Address: 12.76.124.25
Remote Port: 2799
Extra Path Info: /links/admin/admin.cgi/category&add_form=1

I suggest you contact your ISP concerning this problem since it is a problem with cgiwrap and not with Links.

I hope this helps.
