unable to open auth file

unable to open auth file
Hi everybody!

I have sucessfully (not without the help of this forum, though!) installed dman twice before, so I didn't expect to encounter any problems this time. However, when I try to log on I get the following error message: unable to open auth file: ./auth/. Reason: ACL/SRL denies write access, even though I have set the permissions of the directory to 777. Any ideas why that is?

Thanks in advance,

Just a thought Sascha, can you double check to make sure you do not have trailing slashes / at the end of the paths in default.cfg?
$auth_dir = $db_script_path . "/auth";

Also be sure you have copied the index.htm file into the directory. I have forgotten in the past myself :)

no, no trailing slashes and the index.html is there as well...

Perhaps your host denies write access? That's just a wild stab in the dark though... (ACL/SRL? Never heard of it Smile)

Try allowing a default user with add permissions. See if you can add a record...
