When i go to validate links i often get the error:

Requested URI too large

The requested URL's length exceeds the capacity limit for this server

request failed: URI to long

This happens if i have more than one page of links to validate. Once i set a link on the first page to be validated and submit, the page is reloaded so that i can validate more of the links. If i try to click on the third page of links to be validated,after i validate one link, i get this error.

has anyone else experienced this or know what i should do?

Can you do a view source on the validate links page, and see if you see:

<form action="admin.cgi" method="get">

or perhaps a missing method tag? On my copy it show's method="post". It sounds like the validate screen is trying to use GET method, something it shouldn't be doing.

I have been getting this also for the longest time, and have just been putting up with it. Any ideas?

It occurs only when you go to the 2nd page onwards in the validation list.

Here is an example of the line page 4 in the list is getting for its hyperlink: (which clearly exceed that maximum allowable uri length)

I should mention that for me this is occuring only after you have validated a page of links and then try to go to pages 2 onwards to validate some more.

The way around it at the moment is to click 'Validate Links' which takes you back to page one, then click on the page you want again.
