Case Study: International Campaign to Ban Landmines

ICBL trusted our products, making Gossamer the obvious choice for hosting.

The International Campaign to Ban Landmines is a not-for-profit that was already using Gossamer Threads’ products, but was hosted elsewhere. During spikes in traffic and email volume, they often experienced downtime, and felt that their existing hosting services were becoming increasingly unreliable. As a volunteer organization, they were often met with challenges of high turnover and staffing changes, as well as working across many time zones, making it difficult for the organization to manage IT decisions.

Feeling strongly aligned with the values of the organization, Gossamer Threads consulted with the organization, helping them make a number of technical decisions more easily. At the same time, our team helped address a set of varied web challenges, partnering to provide a dedicated hosting solution, as well as e-mail, mailing lists, and spam monitoring.

The International Campaign to Ban Landmines now has reliable hosting for their global network, and can better manage their mailing lists between organizations. By acting as a technical consultant to the organization, Gossamer is able to take an active role in the administration of their back-end, and make recommendations on the most efficient technical solutions for the IBCL.
