0 links built and email problem

0 links built and email problem
After I add a link to a category in the admin page, then click "build" - it comes back with the fact that "0" pages were built. Why would that be happening?
I can see the link was added on the Category page (http://www.dragonberry.com/links/pages/) because it has a "1" beside it, but clicking on that category shows no links at all.
To compound the strangeness, if you click on "random" it *does* return the link that was entered in the admin panel (go figure).

2nd issue - when I "Add A Resource" through the web pages, then go to the Admin page to "validate" it gives me an error saying
Error Message : Unable to send addition message. Reason:
Script Location : D:\64.225.32.76\links\cgi-bin\admin\admin.cgi
Perl Version : 5.00503

Then gives the "delete" message (I'm sorry your site has been declined) instead of the "validate" message.

Any clues?
Thanks in advance.

Terry

You need to add links in your links.db file before you can build your directory...you are getting the 0 bytes error message because you have nothing in your links.db file.

Eliot - is there something I'm missing then? I would assume you add links to the db by using the Admin page or the web "Add a Resource" interface, correct? I've done both and neither show up as links.

Feel free to visit the site and try
http://www.dragonberry.com/links/pages/

You can see on that page I've tried adding links a number of times - some through the "Add a Resource" and some through the Admin panel. None show up in the links section.

Also - about the email issue. I did make sure $db_email_add = 1;

Thanks for the insight.

Look in your links.db file! Are the links in there or not?? If not...that is why you are getting the 0 bytes error message you alluded to in your first message!

Good luck!

I've double checked the "read me" and searched and read many documents here in the forums.
Still I can't figure out why I'm not getting any links to show up.
As you can see above, they are showing in the database file, but not on the page itself.

Witness it at http://www.dragonberry.com/links/pages/

If there is any certain script I could paste here for closer inspection, let me know.
If there's any further research I should do, please let me know that also.

Thanks again for your help.

Replying to myself again here for the benefit of anyone else who may come across this same problem.

While reading almost every post in every forum to come up with an answer, I came across a post that said they used Dreamweaver to create the pages.
I don't use Dreamweaver, I use Adobe GoLive, and found that after I installed the Enhanced Template Support (under Links Modifications) I was able to build again and the links actually DID show up! Woo! Woo!

I still have another problem but I think I'll start a new thread to see if anyone knows about it. The problem is with the "Add A Resource" functionality. When I go to "Validate" a resource added, it doesn't send the mail AND tells me the link was NOT validated - specifically:

CGI ERROR

Thanks for posting your solution! I did use Dreamweaver to edit the pages and all the Links were gone! :(
Now I put in that parser and everything works.
Thanks,
