PLEASE HELP! Problems with installation...
Someone please help me... I'd be real grateful...

I attempted to install the script... and then I tried to go to the admin file..

I get this error:

"Error including libraries: (Maybe you didn't strip carriage returns after a network transfer?)

Make sure they exist, permissions are set properly, and paths are set correctly."

I went back and checked all the permissions and the path/urls of the links.cfg file... Everything seemed correct..
I'm testing the script out on hypermart.. if I could get it to work, I'd be installing it on a non-free host for my upcoming site..

I have this as the non-cgi directory for the pages:

username.hypermart.net/links/pages

And here is the cgi folders I have them set up as:

username.hypermart.net/cgi-bin/links
username.hypermart.net/cgi-bin/links/admin
username.hypermart.net/cgi-bin/links/admin...etc...etc

Could someone please give me some assistance..

if you do, thanks a bunch,

Jon

That error means that you did not upload the files in ASCII mode. If you are using QFTP or CuteFTP, make sure that you have specified all the file extensions (like .cfg, .pl, .cgi, .db, .pm) to be uploaded in ASCII mode.

And if you are on Hypermart, isn't your account on a UNIX server???

Ok Thanks.

But I'm pretty sure I uploaded in ASCII mode, but I'll re-check.

Yes it's on a unix server. Maybe I'm missing something. does this script only work on NT servers or something?

Thanks,

Jon

It works on NT and UNIX...the reason I asked is that you posted your question in the Links 2.0 Installation-Windows forum when you should've posted this request in the Links 2.0 Installation-UNIX forum...that's all!

Again...that error indicates that you did NOT install the files in ASCII mode.

Eliot
