Sorry...new thread...
K, here's a list of my problems to get more specific. My url is www.xeba.com/affiliations. If you need any of the scripts to further help me, go ahead an email me at xeba@xeba.com --

1) when trying to add a site, I used the following for the information:

Title: Testing 123
URL: www.test.com
Catagory: Antiques
Description: Blah, blah
Contact name: Aaronius
Contact email: xeba@xeba.com

I submitted the site and it said "There were the following errors trying to add your resource: URL (Invalid format)" I went to check and see if the submission went through anyway and it didn't. So, I changed the url to http://www.test.com (with the http://) and clicked Add Resource. It didn't really do anything until it timed out. You know, how it does it when it can't find a site. But then I went in and checked to see if the information was sent anyway, and it was! What could be wrong?

2)I go to What's New and only one out of 9 or so sites I had archived were listed (the oldest of them all...yes I refreshed.) These same items don't have a new icon by them in the directory. Could this have just been a stupid mistake by me?

3)When clicking Random Link, I get a download prompt and when I download and open the file, it says - Error: Can't find random line: 0.

4)When Building all pages, I get this feedback

Man...is your site hosted on Powersurge?...that error format looks exactly like the one I get sometimes...

anyway it sounds like your problem is a simple CHMOD error in the backup directory...re CHMOD the backup directory to 666 and then try it

Question:

It says in the readme file--
chmod 755 (-rwxr-xr-x) on all .cgi files.

Would that by ANY small chance also mean .pl files? Just a thought...

Yes....you have to chmod all PERL and .cgi files as 755 or they won't function correctly

Hmm...still doesn't work. Is there anyone here who is a kind fellow and donates his/her time to help another kind fellow install Links?
