Working admin panel only
I've searched all over the forum and I found a few threads where people had similar problems, but I couldn't find a straight answer on how to fix this. The admin panel and everything in it seems to be working perfectly. But add.cgi, modify.cgi, jump.cgi and search.cgi are all giving me 500 errors. I've gone over the CHMOD of all the files several times, and I've looked over links.cfg again and again, but I just can't see any reason why its doing this. this is a really good FFA script. one of the best I've seen yet but this is really starting to irritate me. Any help would be much appreciated.
If need be, I can remove pass protection from my admin dir if the problem lies elsewhere so u can see.

Heres my links.cgi contents:

As you can see, I changed search.cgi to point directly to the URL, as has been suggested in other threads, but that had no effect.
Another thing I noticed, the links.cfg from v1.11 required the perl path at the top, but this one does not... may that have anything to do with it?? I'm seriously stumped. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Hi,

You will need to change;

Code:
# PATH and URL of Pages to be built. No Trailing Slash.
$build_root_path = "/home/clonewz/public_html/killerklovvn/cgi-bin/links";
$build_root_url = "http://www.clone-zone.net/...klovvn/cgi-bin/links";

...to;

Code:
# PATH and URL of Pages to be built. No Trailing Slash.
$build_root_path = "/home/clonewz/public_html/links";
$build_root_url = "http://www.clone-zone.net/links";

Note the different path/URL's.

Also, if that still doesn't work... try changing (in add.cgi, search.cgi, etc) the following;

Code:
require "admin/links.cfg";

...to something like;

Code:
require "/home/clonewz/public_html/killerklovvn/cgi-bin/links/admin/links.cfg";

Hope that helps.

Cheers

I can't use this directory.
/home/clonewz/public_html/link
This is the correct path:
/home/clonewz/public_html/killerklovvn/cgi-bin/

the forum added the .... in the links. you can follow them to see the full URL.

And yes, I tried changing the require path in several CGI files, but still no luck.

Well, I beg to differ. You NEVER put static files inside a cgi-bin ;)

hmm.. I've never known a cgi script that didn't go in the cgi-bin. I changed what you said to, but it doesn't seem to have done much. but I don't have access to anything above the 'killerklovvn' folder.

created a folder here:
Code:
# PATH and URL of Pages to be built. No Trailing Slash.
$build_root_path = "/home/clonewz/public_html/killerklovvn/links";
$build_root_url = "
http://www.clone-zone.net/killerklovvn/links";

and i placed the 6 CGI files in it but now its still looking in the old directory even though I changed the root URL and path... now what do I need to edit?
-EDIT-
AH, got it sorta working now.. lol. its all working, but it looks like it was stripped of CSS. I'm sure I can take care of it from here on out. much appreciated Andy!

Hi,

You're missing the point ;)

$build_root_path and $build_root_url ===> The place where your STATIC pages will be built (when running "Build All")

Those paths have absolutly nothing to do with the cgi scripts.

Normally, your format would look something like;

/public_html/killerklovvn/cgi-bin/links/admin
/public_html/killerklovvn/cgi-bin/links
/public_html/killerklovvn/links/

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Did you copy the .css file into the root directory, and not the cgi-bin?

/home/clonewz/public_html/killerklovvn/links/links.css
