Help Subcategories are not found
Hello,

I've been searching the forum some time now with no luck. I'm sure it's here somewhere though. Well I've installed 2.0 today everything seemed fine until I clicked on the sub categories. It says I'm not authorized to view this page. The pages are there but it doesn't seem to enter the entire url for the page. For example: http://www.free4everyone.com/.../pages/indextest.htm

Here is the built page:

http://www.free4everyone.com/.../Test1/indextest.htm

I've checked the paths and permissions over and over. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

A few thoughts;

Are the files in a (pw) protected directory?

Are you setting directories to 777, and index.html to 644?

Is there an index.html in each directory?

Check with your host about any specific permission issues they may have, and also double (triple...) check the PATH to the pages to be built.

Erm, pretty basic error ;)

Look at http://www.free4everyone.com/links/pages/indextest.html ... where do the categories direct the user to?

http://www.free4everyone.com/links/pages/Automotive/

Instead, it should be pointing to;

http://www.free4everyone.com/links/pages/Automotive/indextest.html

I'm not sure if you have been playing with the .def/.cfg files to make it do this....but I would keep with an index.html file for sub categories main files, and indextest.html for the maincategory page if you really want Tongue

Cheers

Thanks for the help. I'm not sure what I did wrong last night....could of been lack of sleep Smile. So I changed my links.cfg back to index.html and that was about it. Now for adding it into my page layout then some mods. I'm sure I'll be back for more help.

Thanks again,Bill
