I can't use Links' own link checking because of my ISP (old Perl version still

Contrary to the common request, I'm wondering if there is a free program or way to check my links that _would_ safely leave a trace in other's stats so that everyone knows that they are linked from my directory (I know that I often check out sites which show up in my referrer logs to see who's linking to me...)
