links: Art & Humanities

links: Art & Humanities
I have 2 questions?

1. Why won't it leave a space instead of a _
Example Arts_and_Humanities
I want it to be Arts And Humanities

2. Why are my URL's being duplicated?

1) You have to put an underscore between multiple category names...so that the directories will build and that it will show up properly in the browser location.

When it builds in the web page, it will show up as Arts and Humanities. The sub build_clean routine in the nph-build.cgi file takes the underscore character and translates it into a space in the web pages built.

2) What do you mean? Please be more specific or provide a working example, so that we can see what you are talking about.

Like if I put a link in as http://www.gossamer-threads.com after I build it, there will be 2 of these links. in the same category. How can I correct this?

I checked it, but there is only 1 link, but if I view the page there are 2 links.

STRANGE as it sounds

A couple of problems:

1) If you added the links via the add.cgi script, and do not have file flocking turned on via the $db_use_flock variable in the links.cfg, then you could have duplicate links added. Make sure to delete duplicate links in the validation process.

2) Make sure that your linksid.txt file corresponds to the last record number in your links.db file. If this file has become corrupted, then the tracking of records may also be screwed up.
