Want to use SSI-asp's, not CSS

Want to use SSI-asp's, not CSS
My whole site is built by hard coding and with asps to make it scalable, etc.

Can I just change all the templates to reflect the rest of my site? Will removing the <link rel=stylesheet...> code in all my templates be sufficient or must I mess with the cgi or .pl files too? Removing this code in the index and add files seems to have been ok, but I need your blessing before I go ahead with the rest of the templates and then mess with all the extensions.

I want to change the templates to .asp from .html. Will the cgi still work? My links is at www.thestablemind.com/horselinks.

My goal is to make the links section fit in with the rest of my site.

Removing those statements is all you need to do unless you also want to modify the tags in the template files to remove the "class=" parameters. But, if you have no style sheet being pointed to, then those parameters don't do anything.

It should still work. The cgi doesn't read the files, it only writes them. It really doesn't care what the extensions are on the files. It is the httpd server and the browser that care about the extensions.

I hope this helps.

I use '.asp' pages and can assure you that Links will work just fine. You may have already tried. I did find one problem I have not been able to over come.

I like to use TOC menus. In other words, If I have a menu and want it in all my pages, I make a small html file and then just call it in what page I want with an include statement.

Quote:
<!--#include file="toc-1.html" -->

The problem is when I try this in LINKs templates, it don't work as expected. I believe it has something to do with the way links runs through and interprets variables.

If you have ideas to help with this, I would appreciate it.

Thanks and Good Luck
