You should be okay with most hosts. I guess a unix host could be easier to install on than a windows host. I've gone with supanames.co.uk

So far they seem reasonably good and they're cheap as well!

They offer web hosting from US$8.95 including ssh telnet etc.

Fast servers great support.

I used to host my site with Verio BUT I am glad that I transfered to Icestorm.

After many years and probably 10-15 hosts I have found Dreamhost.com to be the very best. Everything is great: super fast servers, awesome admin panel(their own, not basic one every other host uses) QUICK support, just all around it is great.

It is a little more expensive but worth it. I have been with all the cheap hosts and I found YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!

I've been with few host but the one that I really like is Interland. Great support, great features and the Unix plan is great with links 2.0.
