Still can't build...HELP!
Hi again!

I'm still receiving the following error message when I try to build my link database:

CGI ERROR
==========================================
Error Message : fatal error: Illegal division by zero at nph-build.cgi line 432, chunk 273.

Script Location : nph-build.cgi
Perl Version : 5.00503

Does anyone know what that means? How do I fix it?

Thanks! : )

Okay...try deleting all the id files in the rates directory and then re-build.

Thanks! That did the trick. Did I just erase all my ratings, though?

Off topic: BTW, by your username, do you like "furry" artwork?

Thanks for the help!

It just erases the ratings that were stored prior to your most recent build. It does not delete the Ratings that are already stored in your links.db file.

Nope...I like people...Anthro = Man (actually People or humans...) and Rules = rules...I am an applied cultural anthropologist by training. Wink

The site works but NOT admin

I altered the File: site_html.pl and when I uploaded BOOM!!! I have replaced it and shows empty db.

When I try to Validate links, I get this:
No records to validate!

When I try to Build All, I get this:
CGI ERROR

Error Message : Error building! Links database is 0 bytes!
Script Location : nph-build.cgi
Perl Version : 5.00404

Form Variables
===============================================

I altered the File: site_html.pl (trying to put in Description and key words) and when I uploaded BOOM!!!

Everything else about the site works!!!!!

Do you have links in your links.db and validate.db files? If the do not have links in the latter database file, then that is the error message you will receive...meaning that there are no links in that database, so there are no links to validate. If you do not have any links in your links.db file, then the error message you receive in the build script is accurate stating that there are no links in the links.db file, so the build process aborts.

If you had links in both database files, I hope that you have a backup of the files, which you can use to restore the databases.

Backup good but - link id started back at 1 In reply to
Links db. was in backup and is working THANKS,

However, link id started back at ( id. 1 ) instead of ( id.306 ) in numerical order.

I went through the boards and cannot find anything.

Is there a solution to start it back correctly at ( id.306 )

Thanks
Dad

Welp, what you need to do is re-number the IDs in your links.db, then reset the number in the linksid.txt to the LAST RECORD NUMBER in your links.db file.
And this has been discussed before. Wink
