Today I changed my templates and then I Staggered (Auto), but some pages still show the old templates look. At first I thought that it was problem about cache, but I check another computer, it is still same.

Is there anyone can tell me where is mistake?

When I build all, it doesn't complete all. After building for a while, it stop. I have many categories, so is it the cause?

The build is most likely timing out through the browser, and you will need to build via telnet.

I had the same problem with staggered build not updating many of the categories.

1) Access your shell account via telnet.
2) Connect to your /links/admin directory:


3) Execute the nph-build.cgi file:

Just now I got 3 links and I try to validate but now I cannot validate it. What is going on I don't know. Before I open telnet I can validate but after build pages via telnet it doesn't work now. When I validate it show this messages:

Uh...you need to set your detailed directory to 777 (rwxrwxrwx).

The permission of detailed directory is 777. Today I notice that when I make detailed pages via telnet, the files of data directory change its permission to 664 from 666.
So when links come, cannot validate from admin option. Then I have to open FTP and give permission all those files in data directory to 666. Then it can validate.

In my detailed directory, some pages is 664 and 644 permission. I try t o give permission those files 644 to 664. But it says operation not permitted.

So can you tell me how can I change the permission or in which way you think that I can build those pages via telnet?

About the changing permissions in the data directory, there is a FAQ in the Resource Center that addresses this problem.

BTW: The Resource Center is the first place to check for solutions of problems (via the FAQs) and for modification ideas (via the Modification section).

I already checked the resource center and I find the code, which allow the nph-build.cgi not to change the permission from 664 to 644.

but now when I build from telnet, it goes but after building some categories pages, it stop and shows cgi-error, permission denied.

I checked from ftp and saw where it stop that index.html file is permission is 644, even give permissision to 664, it ignores.

Now, I don't know how can I fixed this problem. please give me some advice. Thanks in advance for your support.

it may sound silly.. but do u have your either root user access or which ever your web server is running on.??

 
What permission is denied? Please be more specific.


The files built with the nph-build.cgi script SHOULD BE 644.

Make sure that your New, Ratings, and Cool directories are set to 777 (rwxrwxrwx).
