Searches in Links 2.0 produce error log messages
No matter whether a search is valid or not, I get two error messages for every search run on my site (although the end user doesn't see these, they appear in my Web server's error log). The search.cgi is doing two calls, apparently, to files which don't exist in the process of creating the search results (or no results) page.

The two pages it is looking for are /dir/= and /dir/ and I have no idea what is causing these to be generated. Any ideas? I'd like to fix this because it's clogging up my error log.

Thanks.

If you have your LINKS being built in a sub-domain...then this could be one of your problems.

Here's specifically what I'm talking about. These error messages are generated whenever someone does a search on my site:

[Sun Mar 26 01:56:10 2000] [error] [client 198.199.133.32] attempt to invoke directory as script: /home/ftp/www/cgi-bin/dir
[Sun Mar 26 01:56:18 2000] [error] [client 198.199.133.32] attempt to invoke directory as script: /home/ftp/www/cgi-bin/dir
[Sun Mar 26 01:57:24 2000] [error] [client 198.199.133.32] attempt to invoke directory as script: /home/ftp/www/cgi-bin/dir
[Sun Mar 26 01:58:41 2000] [error] [client 198.199.133.32] attempt to invoke directory as script: /home/ftp/www/cgi-bin/dir

They're not clicking on anything to generate these messages; they are generated from the search.cgi script itself (I know because I've tested it while watching the error log and they show up just when I hit the search script). Strange.

No, the script is hosted on a single host and domain.

Umm, when did I say I knew everything? I was providing more information to try and help diagnose the problem. If I "knew everything," I wouldn't be posting here.

I appreciated your help and replied with some more information. Sorry you saw it in some other way.
