NT IIS 3 password protection

NT IIS 3 password protection
Quick question before I ask my ISP to password protect my links admin directory (hopefully for free) - On NT IIS 3, do I need to password protect only the main admin directory, or the admin directory and the admin/data directory, or ...

I want to make sure before I bother my ISP that I don't end up leaving loopholes, and that I don't create any problems with links running properly by password protecting.

Excellent Script by the way! I've never used a perl script which was as easy to configure and extremely powerful at the same time.

I would have them password protect both your admin and admin/data directory.

if possible.. i would put your data directory into some place not online..

like if your www folder is..

/home/YOURNAME/public_html/

then you can put your data folder into

/home/YOURNAME/data

so no one except for some person with your FTP password can get in..

Thanks to both of you for the quick reply.

Widgetz,
You're saying that the FTP password is more 'hacker proof' than an NT directory password? I'm guessing that anyone who wanted the data would know the general how-to's of FTP, so how is one password more secure than the other...

Thanks again.
