i'm a newbie to perl and cgi but i really need to have this search engine up on my site (my sister's) because of some personal reasons. can anyone help me with it coz i'm unable to learn it anytime soon. any help rendered would be greatly appreciated and credit would be given fully.

I guess you want any search engine (not specific to Links 2.0). Check out http://cgi.resourceindex.com/...ching_Your_Web_Site/. If you want something that's easy to setup try Fetch at http://www.feartech.com/vv/fetch.shtml. You won't need telnet to set this up and it's easy to configure; first script I ever tried!
P.S. The Perl and CGI forum (http://www.gossamer-threads.com/...t=&Board=PerlCGI) would have been a better place to post this.
