Links Performance Under High Volume

Links Performance Under High Volume
Greetings...

I am considering using Links on my website, but my hope is that one day I will be attracting a lot of traffic. Can somebody tell me how Links performs in high traffic/volume situations?

Is it's performance affected at all? Are there any figures out there?

Thanx!

Yes...

No...don't know any "figures" being available.

The best thing to do is install the SQL version of LINKS.

Regards.

I'm not going to have a huge number of links...maybe 1000 links tops. But I do hope to get a lot of traffic on my site.

Is it still advisable to get the Links SQL version?

If I go with the regular version of Links, can I expect problems if two or more people are trying to access the files at the same time?

Thanx in advance!

Yes...It doesn't just depend on the number of links you have in your directory, but also traffic and use of server resources. SQL is a lot more scalable and efficient in terms of server processing and CPU usage.
