Links, Links SQL, and Senga's Catalog
Hello,
Im going to be started an iternet directory and was wonder how the prograess with the Links SQL is comming. I was surfing and found that http://www.senga.org/Catalog is bacsically the same thing as links but in a SQL fashon. I know that it can handle large directories 500,000 sites + and 10,000 categories +. Wil lthe SQL verson of links be able to hand this and still do searchs in a few seconds?

Hello,

Are you sure that Catalog does the same thing as Links? I just had a look at it briefly, it seems that software is for cataloging directories on a hard drive rather than cataloging link entries.

I know it sounds similar, but duplicating the administrative functions and other things that Links does would be a huge task, even if you had a decent starting place.

Good luck in your search... I'm also curious as to when the SQL version will be ready.
