This has been discussed before in the Links 2.0 Forums...(link limits).

Basically, the average range of links is between 3,000 and 5,000 links depending on the following factors:

1) Number of fields.
2) Number of characters per field.

The more, the less records you can store.

About the same goes for categories, although Links users have found problems with more than 400 categories in terms of the build process.

Rule of thumb: The SIZE of the database files should not exceed 1.0 MGs for shared server accounts, and also for dedicated servers based on performance degradation with adding, editing, deleting, searching, etc. records in flat files.

Again, for more information, search the Links 2.0 forums for LINKS LIMIT...and you will find quite a few other discussions related to this issue!

Is their any add-on or methods I can use to get more links out of 2.0 because I can't affort the SQL version and my current database is ready to blow up any minute now.

Thanks

One of the things users have done is to have multiple copies of Links, and use SSI to combine the output of each build.
