Anyone... Elliot Lee..?
When I did a search on my question, I found the same question asked about 30 times and answered the same way each time. None of them pertain to me. I have been using links for 3 months (adding about 3-5 links a day) with no problem, today I validated 5 new links and clicked on build all and received the infamous:

CGI ERROR
==========================================
Error Message : Error building! Links database is 0 bytes!
Script Location : nph-build.cgi
Perl Version : 5.00503

* I checked and everything is still chmod 666
* I still have a blank links.db.bak
* Whats weird is it worked fine for 3 months

Hm, Eliot is not around anymore...

As for your links.db: same thing happened to me a month ago. My provider automatically deleted all of my flat files, because I had exceeded my account quota. Lucky enough, I had a more or less complete copy of links.db and other flat files. Don't know if the same applies to you, but did you check with your hosting company?

This is nicakarino, I just have a username at home and one at work. Comparing my folders to my backups, I can't find any files that I used to have that are no longer there. Basically everything looks the same. I'll check with my host but what exactly are flat files? Whoever helps, thanks in advance.

Flat files are basicly plain text files with no formating, often used to store database files on the Internet because they can pretty much be read by any software under any platform.
