the url checker in the admin page, does it check files as well

I know it wil check if the site such as http://www.yoursite.com/ is working, or if there is an error

but will it check files, like http://www.yoursite.com/file.zip or file.exe etc...

It will only check to see if the file is found.

What else would you like to check for?

So the script runs the checker and then prints the day that it was verified/checked, can that be done?

 
Yes...it will go out and find the files. If the files are not found, then you will get Not Found message.


Huh? If you execute the nph-verify.cgi via Cron and set it up to print results in a logfile, then yes it will do this.

If you don't set-up the script to run via Cron, then you have to manually click on the Verify Links link.

Have you even tried to execute the nph-verify.cgi script???

I would suggest doing that if you haven't already.
