Because your ISP/Hosting company does not have the full LWP modules installed. You can try installing the LWP modules that come with LINKS in your LINKS cgi-bin directory and see if it works.

If not, you will need to contact your ISP/Hosting company about their LWP modules installed and what you need to do to allow the nph-verify.cgi to run.

But the LWP is already in the links/admin directory.
Should I move it out to the cgi-bin, out of the links directory? Links directory is in my cgi-bin.

Please, your help is highly appreciated here.

TALK to your ISP/Hosting Company. They may not allow LWP to run on the server where your account resides.

if they really installed then you should be able to verify links. either using the link provided in the admin or via telnet

do you have access to telnet? it depends what account you have with your isp.
if you have telnet access then log in to telnet and type the path to verify.cgi
something like this
/home/path.../admin/verify.cgi

I just tried it thru telnet: here is what I did, I telneted to the links/admin dir, and typed nph-verify.cgi, and it gave me a long list of data ending with: </PRE>bash-2.)i$.

But b/4 this, the USERNAME: is empty.

Then I went to my links admin, and tried it, it came with same message: unable to find ....auto..LWP..

What should I do now, change anything in the nph-verify.cgi script or admin.cgi script?

Thanks in advance.

it seems to me your isp did not install LWP module or they made a mistake when they installed it
