Using ALTAVISTA.CGI, bandwidth issues?

Using ALTAVISTA.CGI, bandwidth issues?
I was wondering,

When using LWP to access the Altavista search page, does it use up their bandwidth and mine?

It obviously does on whoever runs the altavista.cgi, but the fact that it is pulling the data out of a page located on a remote server, I would think would also use up their bandwidth??

Well please let me know if thats the case or not Smile
Thanks,

it's not much bandwidth.. so it doesn't really affect them any way.. altavista.cgi is just like regular searching off of altavista's homepage..

except it takes your bandwidth.. from LWP and parsing the results..

Ron,

Each page of search results from Altavista is about 20-25 kilobytes of traffic between your server and altavista.com. So it's not really that much compared to other stuff that can be on Web pages, like a simple image.
