modifying review.cgi
I've been working on widgetz's review.cgi. You can view a sample here.
http://bartour.hypermart.net/...cgi/review.cgi?ID=11
It now uses ubb name and pass. checks to see is you've already reviewed it by you ubb name instead of ip. (I am working on making reviews editable and to bew able to search for reviews by username)

Multiple ratings

output has been ubb-ified. looks like my ubb including the profile icons. changed the review date to ubbs date and time layout.

It's still a work in progress and not a finished mod. so much has been done i don't even know where to start documenting the changes.

Anybody else out there playing around with review.cgi? I'd like to see what you've done. I held off doing these mods waiting for v2 but finally just did it. i don't have mySQL and wanted it to use the ubb database instead of widgetz's userdb.

Looking forward to v2. want to see how you are planning on integrating you userdb with links add/modify

oh yea.. i was going to make this mod in the very beginning.. but because i don't use UBB i never knew if it would work Wink so I just had the code on the authentication available (which some guy gave me..)

anyways.. i am no longer making UserDB.. i am making review.cgi sql (v2) only for Links SQL and the code will be available to Links 2.0 users if they want to mod it to work for Links 2.0.. it's not that hard actually.. it's actually a rewrite of review.cgi 1 with a bunch more addons..

Sweet modification... I had already started integrating Links+Review.cgi+ a script called WebAuthenticate, which also handles the user registration. But your version is much nicer because of the user profiles. If you are sitting on the fence on whether to release the mod, please do. I'd install UBB just for the user profiles (search other reviews by user is a very nice touch).

When I finish it I'll try to throw together some instructions. Search for posts by this user is almost 100%. It prints the page but only lists the numbers of the resource being reviewed. I have to conver the id num to the title. I haven't even tried the edit fxn yet, but I will.

Hey people, didn't anybody modify widgetz's review script. just post an url so i can see what you've done with it.

Thanx Mutt
