I recently added fields to my links database using the excellent bobsie update script.

I would like to add fields to my category database and I found these instructions in the resources section

www.webmasters-resources.com/links/category_title_mod.html

But it says

- Edit your category.db file with you favorite editor and add an extra "|" at the end of each line. -

I have a lot of categories, is there a category database version of the update script that I could use.

Or you can use the script located in the FAQ about adding fields to the links.db file. BUT change the required files from links.def to category.def.

Then change the field numbers and default value of the new category field.

I'm not sure if there is already a category-version linked, but it's only a very few small changes to the script to have it working with category.db .

Take a look at it, it's easy... you could even change file names only...
