Hi,

I guess this question would be mainly for widgetz. I would really like to install your review mod, however, my host does not currently have LWP installed and I have asked several times if they could install it, but they won't be able to do it any time soon. My questions are:

1) Is LWP used only to utilize the automatic install (install.cgi) or is it used elsewhere in the mod?

2) If it is only used for the automatic install, would it be possible to get the files needed for this mod so that I may manually install it?

It looks like a great mod and am looking forward to using it! BTW...switching or finding a new host is not an option for me at this point.

you replied to the wrong post cristophe.. but anyways.. go read the instructions.. redo the nph-build.cgi part.. you probably just ran intall.cgi and though your were done..

Acually I did all the modifications as stated in your instructions, however when I got to install.cgi, I was given a 'document contains no data' and actually you replied in another posted and stated that I probably don't have LWP installed. So anyway, I'm not quite sure if I could skip the install.cgi part......doesn't that download required files from your server? I will search the forums for the instructions you gave on a manual install (hopefull I can find the thread). As far as opening a hypermart account.......does it really make sense to trasfer all of my files to a hypermart account, re-configure all the paths, then go back and do it again on my server?? It seems like an un-necessary step, but thanks for the input. I would just as soon wait until my server installs LWP, before doing that....but thanks for the suggestion. Anyway, I will search the forum and see what I can come up with.

you told me in the past that i could use it to reset the votes.

p.s. what do you mean by Links SQL Licensed?
do you work for alex to install it or do you mean that you have a licensed copy of links sql.

You can't just get a hypermart account and then transfer the stuff back to your host, then change the variables?

Well yes, I saw it erased the rate.cgi file and the directory.

But maybe it's asking for the ratings directory because of the links already listed which have been rated already ?

I have no idea why it keeps asking for this directory.

not a suggestion, a question. And i don't know your host but i do know that some don't jump at every user request for a module.

you use reset.cgi to reset the hits.. that's the last step of review.cgi

i'm trying to say that I use Links SQL.. but I thought Links SQL User was too plain.. and I didn't want to put my email or URL there since my email is flooded anyways and my URL is so incomplete..

Bmxer, actually there usuall pretty good about requests, unfortunately they are just bogged down right now and won't be able to get to it for a few weeks. I had the same problem with your horoscope thing.....another cool script that I can't use!!!!
