What happanned?
I have been ruuning links 2.0 for a long time, then recently I have noticed that the new resource added in the database, it creates the same ID with the existing ID.

For instance: the ID 3 is already in the database, then new resource added, it created ID 3 for this new resource too. Or it overlaps the old one. What is happened?

Well, I am sure that I did not do anything with the linksid.txt. I have not touched anything to the links stuff for a long time. So is there any causes may lead to this situation?

hmm.. i don't remember links 2.0 that well anymore.. (too much into links sql).. but I recall add.cgi uses linksid.txt and i BELIEVE but not too sure that the admin uses it too..

so the IDs must come from there.. go to linksid.txt and download it and tell me what number is in there.. also.. what is the last reoccuring ID?

The number in linksID.txt is 7 and the last reoccuring ID number is 422.
So what is going wrong here?
What I tried to do was that, after I downloaded the linksID.txt, I saw it has number 7 so I change it to 422. then upload again and Cmod 666. I hope this will work. But it won't. The new resources added, the new ID created for new resources is 422 and 421 and 420.
I don't know why???

it sounds like one of the files are corrupt or may be your host changed some configuration and messed up something.
i suggest reuploading all links files except the data files. see if that work
